CNA Train the Trainer Classes

Florida Training Academy is an approved Florida Board of Nursing CE Provider #50-24163

Our Florida Board of Nursing-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Train the Trainer workshop is designed to prepare LPNs and RNs to teach nursing assistants in compliance with state requirements. Topics include how to establish a Nurse Aide training program, principles of adult learning, and the CNA certification process.

Audience: Nurses (ex: LPN, RN, ARNP) who want to provide compassionate and competent training to future Certified Nursing Assistants. While LPNs can take the Train the Trainer course and assist an RN with classes, according to Florida Statutes 464.003 only RNs can train Certified Nursing Assistants.

By the end of the CNA Train the Trainer course the LPN or RN will be able to:

  • Discuss the Federal and State regulations for Nursing Assistant program content
  • Explain the concept of andragogy, the practice of teaching adults
  • Compare the 10 principles of adult learning
  • Examine the challenges of adult learning and discuss ways to help Nursing Assistant students overcome these challenges
  • Identify the 7 areas of study that are included in a Nursing Assistant Training Program
  • Verbalize the differences between  CNA Exam Preparation Courses and a State approved CNA Training program
  • Review the supplies and materials needed to conduct the course
  • Review of the basic skills, cross-referenced with skills covered in the CNA Exam Prep Workbook
