🫀 National CPR and AED Awareness Week

Every year from June 1–7, we celebrate National CPR and AED Awareness Week—a critical time to reflect on the life-saving skills that every person should know. Whether you’re a healthcare provider, a parent, a teacher, or a bystander, your hands can save a life.

🚨 Why It Matters

According to the American Heart Association:

  • Nearly 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals each year in the U.S.
  • Only 10% of those victims survive.
  • Immediate CPR can double or triple the chances of survival.

Now imagine you’re that one person standing nearby… Would you know what to do?

💡 What Is CPR and How Does It Help?

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) is the act of manually pumping the heart by performing chest compressions and providing rescue breaths (if trained) to someone who has stopped breathing or whose heart has stopped beating.

AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a device that can restart the heart using an electric shock. AEDs are often found in schools, airports, gyms, and community centers—and learning to use one is easier than you think!

✨ Real Heroes Don’t Wear Capes—They Wear Gloves
